Doing the Nilachal sunrise properly
Leave at 5:00, take a jacket, and skip the main platform. Here is why.
Nilachal is three kilometres from our gate — about ten minutes by car. Sunrise is between 5:30 and 6:10 depending on the month, and you want to be up there twenty minutes before.
Leave at 5:00. Ask reception the night before and we will have a CNG or car ready at the door. Flask of tea included if you ask.
Take a jacket. Even in October it is genuinely cold at the top before the sun comes up. People underestimate this every single week.
Walk past the main platform. Everyone stops at the first viewpoint. Keep going another two hundred metres to the far edge — same view, a quarter of the people, and nothing in your photos.
Come back for breakfast. The kitchen opens at seven. Tell us what time you will be back and it will be hot when you walk in.
